A pairing of two Victorian-era heavy folio family Bibles with deeply embossed leather bindings and decorative metal clasps. The first volume is an 1876 edition of The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments, Apocrypha, concordance, and psalms, published by William W. Harding in Philadelphia, featuring an included printed slip for Milo B. Stevens & Co. War Claim Attorneys. The second volume is a Superfine Edition New Devotional and Explanatory Pictorial Family Bible, published by Gately & Conroy in Cincinnati, Ohio, featuring Dr. William Smith's Dictionary of the Bible, scripture illustrations, and an illuminated presentation page inscribed from Sarah J. Porter to B. G. Porter dated January 21, 1888. Both volumes retain original stamped leather covers and decorative brass-tone metal clasps.
